Reflection: Before Peter and John stood before crowds and councils, they stood before God. Acts 4:29 is a
powerful moment of prayer—not for safety, but for boldness. The early church didn’t ask for the
opposition to disappear. They asked for courage to rise.
But here’s the hidden truth: boldness doesn’t begin in the public square. It begins in the secret
place. It starts with preaching the gospel to your own heart.
- Are you reminding yourself daily of the power of the cross?
- Are you speaking truth over your fears, doubts, and insecurities?
- Are you declaring that the gospel is worth sharing, even when it’s uncomfortable?
Satan’s favorite playground is the six inches between your ears. Your mind is his battlefield, and
his weapons are lies. Two of his most effective whispers?
- “You’re not good enough.”
- “You’re not loved enough.”
He doesn’t need chains when he has doubt. He doesn’t need a sword when he has shame. If he
can convince you that you’re disqualified, he can keep you silent.
But here’s the truth: You are more than enough in Christ. You are deeply loved by the Father
Before you speak boldly to others, you must speak boldly to yourself. Preach the gospel to your
own heart. Declare war on the lies. Let me hear you say it out loud:
- “I am chosen.”
- “I am redeemed.”
- “I am loved beyond measure.”
- “I am called, equipped, and empowered to share the good news.”
Prayer: Lord, before I speak to the world, help me speak to my own soul. Remind me of your truth. Fill
me with your Spirit. Make me bold—not just in public, but in private. Let your word dwell richly
in me so that I can proclaim it fearlessly. Amen.
Challenge: Today, take five minutes to speak the gospel to yourself. Declare who Jesus is, what He’s done,
and why it matters. Then, ask God for the same boldness the early church prayed for—and go
share it with others.
