Weekly Devotional: Faith Strong

Published on January 19, 2026 at 7:03 AM

During our journey through life we will encounter challenges of loss of loved ones, health crisis, uncertainties, doubt and despair.  Often time our faith will be challenged through doubt brought forth by the great deceiver.
Seeking the presence of God through prayer, faith and knowing his sovereignty in all things. God will provide peace, guidance, calmness during the storm. Just as Jesus did with his Apostles and called out to the Apostles and calmed the storm(Matthew 8:26:And he said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith”). He will navigate us through life’s uncertainties (I Corinthian 14:33  For God is not a God of confusion but peace), (Isaiah 25:10 Lord, you are my God I will exalt you, I will praise your name, for you have done wonderful things, plans formed of old, faithful and sure. Proverbs 16:3 Commit your work to the Lord and your plans will be established)

As the storms of life roll into our lives, turn to God in prayer, supplication, and scripture. The power of faith helps us in every storm. The Lord is the anchor in all storms of life. (John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you: my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled. Neither let them be afraid). Trust in God in all seasons of uncertainty and apprehensions. He is in control and has a plan. We do not always see or understand God’s sovereign plan. (1 Peter 5:7Casting all anxieties on him, because he cares for you)

The Holy Spirit helps us transform the uncertainty in chaotic times to smoother water and calming in our hearts. He reminds us we are not alone. (John 16:13 When the spirit of truth comes, he will guide you with all truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to things to come)

Scripture confirms to us that God is actively working in our lives no how chaotic life may seem. He is working and and engaged in our lives guiding us toward his will (Psalms 106:1 Praise the Lord! Oh give thanks to the Lord for he is good, for his steadfast loves endures forever and Proverbs 19:21 Many are the plans in the mind of man, but the purpose of the Lord will stand)

We are encouraged to help lift up others during times of trouble, tragedy, and despair. We can collectively help/support others when we are part of a faith based church through God. Allowing God to restore peace and love and sovereignty (Galatians 6:2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ).

Let our hearts sing hallelujah and praise the Lord.

Lifts our eyes unto the heavens, raise our hands high and praise God in the storm.

I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen

A born again child of God!
