Who We Are
Ephesians 1 & 2
A couple of weeks ago Sandy and I were watching a movie on Netflix. The title is the Overcomer. It was about a young girl from a broken home, being raised by her grandmother. She had gotten a scholarship to a private Christian high school. She likes to run track, so when she went out for track the coach asked her who she was, not just her name. Later the principle talked to her about Christ and led her to confess her sins. So, the principle asked her to read Ephesians 1 & 2.
So, I decided to read these verses. I have read these verses many times. But what the young girl listed, what she found opened my eyes to what these verses are telling us.
First it tells us we are Blessed. Next, we find out we are chosen. Christ chose us to be followers. We are predestined to be heirs through Christ. We are redeemed through the Blood of Jesus. Our sins have been forgiving in accordance with the riches of God. We are known to God. He knows us, he knows our name. We have hope through Jesus Christ. We were dead but now we are alive. We have been Saved through his Grace.
I encourage you to read these 2 chapters anew. Look with new eyes. And see who we have become through the love of God.
