Speaking Boldly Through Prayer

1 Timothy 2:3-5

3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.

Spending eternity in  Heaven is a promise from God. Our ticket is salvation through Jesus, a gift from our heavenly father, but I want my family to accept this gift.

To this end, praying without ceasing is what this grandmother does. A morning prayer spoken before my feet hit the floor…an evening prayer whispered before my mind drifts off, is the request that God’s invitation be accepted by my grandchildren. They live in a world that pulls them in many directions, and most are not in the direction of God.

God answers prayers, but they are answered in His time and in His way. So no surprise when my prayer was answered through a thirteen-year-old boy. He  issued an invitation to my grandson to attend Wednesday night youth group. From that time on, he has not missed a meeting. Not only that, his favorite Christmas gift was a sweatshirt with “Praise God” spelled out in collegiate letters. In his stocking Santa put Called to be a Champion: The Ultimate Bible-Based Playbook for Young Athletes. This is the only gift he took with him to his father’s.

His friend has no idea the part he played in God’s answer to my prayers.
